Section 13.7 Cancel an Export Package

Cancel an Export Package

When an export package is still processing, you can cancel it directly from the Export Packages module rather than waiting for it to finish. This is most useful for large export packages that are taking longer than expected.



Steps

  1. Navigate to the Export Packages module.
  2. Select the export package you want to cancel to open its detail page.
  3. On the package toolbar, click Cancel.
  4. In the Cancel Export Package confirmation dialog, click Yes to confirm.
    Note: Any in-progress work on the export package will be discarded.
  5. The package Status changes to Cancelling, then Cancelled once the cancellation completes.


Cancel is available for any export package in the Started or In Progress status, whether the package was created manually or generated by a schedule. Any user with access to create export packages can cancel them. No separate permission is required.

If the export finishes before cancellation completes

Because cancellation is a request rather than an instant action, it's possible for an export package to complete before the cancellation is processed. This happens most often with large export packages. If it occurs, you'll see the message Failed to request cancellation. The export package finishes as Completed instead of Cancelled.
