Hamburger Menu

Hamburger menu contains the settings, peripheral connections, services and other unit options    .

Administration Menu

The administration menu allows managers to set up users, manage sessions, and enable Kiosk mode. Standard users can configure the barcode scanner and calibrate the touchscreen monitors should either stop performing.

Users

A manager can create User profiles on the WIB™ Unit. These profiles are different than the profiles in WIB Review. If needed, the manager can reset a user's password or remove the user from the WIB™ Unit. The profiles are unique to the WIB™ Unit and must be configured for each.

Session Manager

Session Manager offers a view of past sessions and current sessions and their status as it relates to transfer to WIB ™ Review. Managers can manually transfer images to an encrypted external hard drive and remove sessions that have met retention requirements. Future features will include the ability to delete, upload, and restore sessions for append and re-scan activities.

Settings

The unit will be configured prior to delivery. The settings menu contains the USB channels for the cameras, ring lights, and the barcode scanner. The current version of the application is provided. This menu is for support tickets and the settings should not require changes. The user can customize some of the settings from this menu using other tools available to the user in WIB Capture.

Kiosk Mode

Kiosk mode allows managers to set the WIB™ Unit into a state that only allows standard users to access the capture program. When on, WIB™ Capture is automatically launched when the WIB™ Unit is turned on. An administrator or manager role can turn off Kiosk mode. The WIB™ Unit must always restart to turn on/off kiosk mode. When Kiosk mode is turned on the button is in color and if off the button is bi-tonal.

Configure Barcode

The barcode scanner can require configuration if dropped, loses connection, or fails to register when the WIB™ Unit is turned on. The admin or standard user can launch the instructions for calibration by selecting the configure barcode scanner. Follow the instructions to calibrate the barcode scanner.

Tablet PC Settings

Should the monitors ever get switched, unplugged, or the capture program is closed prematurely the monitors may require calibration. The admin, a manager, or standard user can calibrate the monitors by attaching the mini-keyboard and selecting the tablet PC settings.
  1.   Select setup in the Configuration section of the settings.
  2. One of the screens will display a tap finger identify touchscreen, select that screen.
  3. Using the mini-keyboard, select enter.
  4. The tap identify touchscreen will appear on the second monitor, select that screen.
  5. The touchscreen monitors are now configured.

Utilities

Utilities are a single button click function that performs when depressed. The user is not required to perform any other actions.

Reconnect

The Reconnect button will reconnect all the peripheral elements which includes the barcode scanner, cameras with ring lights, and the two document cameras. Wait 5 seconds after selecting reconnect for all the elements to come back online. Check each element to ensure connection status.

Upload Service

The Upload button starts and stops the upload service. The upload button with a green check signifies the upload program is running and the same button when shown with a red x signifies the upload service is stopped. If there is a poor internet connection the user can turn off the upload service. If there is a good internet connection the upload service should be running in the background to transfer images and session log files during the capture process. Please refer to the Troubleshooting section for instructions on transferring data from a WIB™ Unit that is offline.

Operation Buttons

Operation Buttons allow users the ability to start and stop a session, focus the camera(s), switch between the standard and stadium document cameras, and perform various image captures of a box during a session. Operation buttons include the following:

Start

This button allows the end user to start and end a session. All boxes MUST be captured in a session. The end user will not be able to scan a barcode or capture photos if a session has not been started.

Pause Session

This button allows the end user to pause a session. Pause will only appear after a session is started. Pause places the  WIB™ Unit in a resting state. The time will stop but the session remains open. This allows the operator to perform other tasks, take a bio-break, go to lunch, etc. without being "on the clock". Production reports record the amount of time an operator takes to process images and containers within a session. Pausing a session allows for the operator to identify segments of time where production on the unit is suspended for a short time and then resumed without penalizing the operator when calculating the efficiency of their production throughput.

Resume Session

If the operator has paused the session, when they are prepared to resume production, they select the Resume buton which takes the  WIB™ Unit out of a resting state. The timer will resume and record the processing time or production for the operator.

Stop

Stop will only appear after a session is started. This button allows the end user to stop a session. Sessions should ONLY be stopped when a production person steps away from the WIB™ Unit for an extended period. For example, during breaks, lunch, end of shift, meetings, research session or any other activity that will last for a significant amount of time. When the session is stopped the user will be prompted to close the session. A session should only be closed when complete.

Closing a session

Reasons for closing a session include but are not limited to the following reasons:
  1. End of a working shift.
  2. Logical ending of a box set
    1. Please refer to the Statement of Work (SOW) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for logical definitions and reasons for closing a session. Some logical definitions include the end of a pallet or a collection of records.
  3. Completion of a location
    1. Please refer to the Statement of Work (SOW) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for location definitions and reasons for closing a session based on location. Some location definitions include the end of a location within a warehouse or file room, or the physical location of a business or warehouse.

Focus Camera(s)

There are two different types of camera focus buttons. One button focuses all the cameras while the other focuses each camera independently. To show the focus button for each camera, refer to camera settings. During the capture process the end user may need to focus one or more of the cameras. The focus button will focus all the cameras at once. This button is located at the bottom of the main Capture Program window and in the Standard/Stadium video feed window. The focus button for the document cameras (Standard/Stadium) can be set to a Single or Continuous auto-focus in the Capture Program. The ring light cameras require a physical toggle setting on the back of the cameras. Refer to the ring light camera manual setup for continuous and auto-focus in the Camera settings section.

Single Focus

The Focus Toggel switches between Single or AF-S and Continuous AF-C. Single or AF-S (AF single, sometimes called single area AF) mode, is good for photographing objects at a focal point that does not move. It locks the focus on a fixed depth that you want to photograph.

Continuous Focus

AF-C (AF continuous, sometimes call continuous servo) is good when photographing moving objects or objects with varying distances from a camera. When the camera is set to AF-C and focused on an area with moving objects, the focus will stay on the point of focus and will keep re-focusing as objects move into or out of the frame.

Barcode

If you would like to use the auto-generated barcode feature or another wireless barcode scanner, select the Barcode button. A dialog with an auto-generated barcode will appear. Select OK to accept the auto-generated value or scan a barcode to replace the value. Select OK to proceed.

Capture 1st Array of Photos

After scanning a barcode, the first array photo button appears at the bottom of the screen. This button takes a a photo of the front, left and top of the box while the lid is on in a single action. The end user must make sure the front of the box is facing the inbound conveyor section prior to selecting the 1st array photo capture button. The capture program names the images based on the position and order of images captured. To make sure you are capturing the correct photo, make sure the front of the box containing the label information appears in the photo stream window labeled Left.

The first array button is configurable in the administration portal. Contact your project administrator for a custom capture workflow configuration for the 1st array button. The following details the process for the default capture workflow.

Capture 2nd Array of Photos

After capturing the first array photos, the box should be rotated 180° so the back of the box appears in the photo stream window labeled Left. Remove the lod from the box so the content appears in the photo stream labeled Top. DO NOT adjust any of the content. The purpose of this photo is to show how the box was organized prior to any handling of the content. After the box is in position and the lid has been removed select the 2nd array capture
The second array button is configurable in the administration portal. Contact your project administrator for a custom capture workflow configuration for the 1st array button. The following details the process for the default capture workflow.

Preview

Preview allows the operator to view the most recent photo taken in preview mode. Preview Mode is a pop-up window with the image displayed on the main screen in full expended view. When active, the preview window will display over the main screen when the document camera(s) are active and is placed in the background behind the main window when a new container is started by the capture program and by, where in the process, an operator is in capturing a box.

Capture Standard Camera Photo

The switch camera button allows the operator to change the document camera the program is using to capture Standard and/or Stadium photos. The switch button with the arrow pointing to the right switches the program to the Stadium Document camera on the right side of the apparatus. The switch button pointing to the left switches the program to the Standard Document Camera on the left side of the apparatus.

Capture Manifest Box Photo(s)

In some instances, a box will contain a manifest or inventory of the content. The manifest can be one (1) or more pages. If a manifest is present the operator  will take a manifest photo of each page using the standard document camera by selecting the Manifest button. If the button is not present contact your project administrator to have the button added to the capture workflow. The manifest button appears on both the Standard and Stadium Camera video feeds.

Capture Stadium Camera Photo(s)

The Stadium Button captures 1 or more photos and labels them as a stadium photo. The Stadium Camera can be configured to capture the following photo types: Manifest, Stadium, Divider, File, Tab, and Document. Refer to the Stadium Camera for instructions on capturing stadium photos of the container content.

Rotate Image for Right Reading File Labels

Once the files are in position make sure the file labels are in the right orientation for reading them. It is easier to position the camera and files whil ehte image in the photo stream matches the orientation of the files. REMEMBER to rotate the image after alignment so that the file labels are not upside down when taking the photos.

Capture Divider Photo(s)

Dividers are sections within a container. Examples of a divider would include an alphabetical separator the signifies that the following files located after the divider all begin with the letter on the divider. Dividers are a container section separator and should not be confused with a tabm which is a folder section separatpr. If the button is not present, contact your project administrator to include the button as part of the capture workflow.

Capture File Photo(s)

The WIB™ Unit can interchangeably be used to capture content and/or file level content. If you know that all content will be captured at the file level, then attached the file capture platform to make file level capture more efficient and ergonomic. See File Level Platform Installation for the Stadium Ramp and/or File Level Platform to change the WIB™ Unit configuration for the preferred capture method.

Reset Box

The operator can reset a container at any time if there is an error in the capture process. Since the process to capture the array photos occurs within seconds. Reset box should not be used when capturing capturing each item within a box. Instead, delete the single image and retake a photo from the Preview Pane.

Rotate Monitor

The operator can rotate the video feed and change the orientation of the monitor from landscape to portrait. This is very helpful when capturing stadium photos. Select the Monitor Orientation Button and manually change the orientation of the monitor from landscape to portrait. Please not that the operator may need to rotate the image so that the video feed displays in the right reading orientation after the monitor is rotated.

Done

The done button is used when there is a post content capture workflow. This allows the user to complete the content capture and proceed to the post content capture steps. Please contact your project administrator for Standard Operating Procedures regarding the capture workflow process and configuration of the capture workflow.
